The special blade of the acrylic knife cuts a swath into the material which then makes breaking off crack-sensitive plastics like acrylic glass, Makrolon and PVC over an edge very manageable. The resulting edges are naturally not as smooth as those cut with a saw blade and should be subsequently sanded and polished.
