Compucolor ink-jet paper comes from the company Felix Schoeller Gruppe, one of the world’s leading producers of high-quality specialty paper for a wide range of different applications. In the field of ink-jet printing they concentrate on the made-to-order production of top quality paper for the high-end market segment which are then sold by other companies under their own label. The paper is produced at their site at Weißenborn near Dresden where they run the only completely integrated factory for ink-jet paper in the world. The whole process of production from extrusion and the application of colour receiving coats all the way to fabrication, packaging and delivery are all under one roof.

The ink-jet paper developed by Felix Schoeller is of extremely high quality and can be used in practically all the currently commercially available ink-jet printers. In a setting as close to actual conditions as possible the company performs a variety of tests in order to obtain an exact understanding of the application possibilities for the different papers. Before allowing any coating to enter the market, all coatings that have been developed in the laboratory are first put through a test production run on a unique trial coating machine where the actual serial conditions of production are reproduced.

As a decades long successful producer of photo paper, Tetenal has acquired special know-how that they can bring to bear in the development of ink-jet coatings.

The two-sided version of this paper is primarily used for flyers and catalogue or brochure layouts. This universally compatible paper dries immediately and guarantees an excellent colour rendering with the highest of contrasts up to a resolution of 5760 dpi. Excellent results are also attainable at a resolution as low as 1440 dpi. Especially in the case of the two-sided printing, a single sheet feeder should be utilized.
