This slot punch allows you to cut two diagonal slits in the corner of a sheet of paper, cardboard, film or whatever else you may want to work with. The slits allow you to slip the uncut corner of another piece of paper or a photograph or a drawing, etc. into them from the back. If two or four of the corners are inserted, and the paper being inserted is not too heavy or stiff, the sheet with the slits can hold the un-slit sheet in place. Among possible uses are photo albums (best with removable pages otherwise it is very difficult if not impossible to make slits in the corners of the pages where they are bound), menus (e.g. changeable daily menu) or drawings that you want to mount in a simple way in order to hang them. In addition, the slits can provide a decorative look on their own and thereby serve to improve the appearance of paper, cardboard, film and other thin materials. Our testing of this device has found that it can cleanly cut through approximately 5 sheets of 80-gram paper at a time. The mechanism of this hand punch for slit corners is made of solid metal and has a practical plastic end stop. Its working principle is similar to that of a conventional office hole punch with the one difference being that the punch is not cylindrical but is rather made up of two thin bars. This hand punch for slit corners is a practical hand device with great bang for the buck; it is, however, not recommended for use on larger stacks of paper.
