In professional circles, the Copic Marker, which was developed and produced in Japan, has gradually taken over the role of the standard tool for making presentations and illustrations. The comprehensive choice of colours (214 colours of which alone 44 are grey tones) makes them perfect for use in presentations of coloured architectural blueprints (colours for official plan drawings), advertising and fashion. These days even practitioners of manga drawing (Japanese cartoon style) are finding Copic pens more and more to their liking. The immense success enjoyed by the Copic system ever since its introduction to the market in the middle of the 1980´s is primarily due to its alcohol-based inks. That made the Copic the first marker whose ink did not corrode copied drafts, which meant that it could be used to add coloured information to copied drawings. In addition, it is also noteworthy that the Copic marker does not degrade even water-based inks on transparent paper. Copic Ink dries quickly, so that large areas can be filled in evenly and soft colour blends can be realised. Furthermore, the ink is nearly odourless and smudge-proof after drying. The Copic marker can be refilled using Various Ink. The empty Copic marker used in conjunction with the different inks offers the opportunity to mix your own colours. The colourless blender, which only contains a solvent, allows you to spread, merge or lighten different colours as you like. The markers come with a broad and a fine tip. A range of 7 more polyester nibs that can be easily exchanged by means of a special tweezers make it possible to draw a wide variety of different lines. The replacement nibs together with the Various Ink - which can be used to refill the marker up to eight times - make the Copic very economical to use and guarantee a long service life. Copic has subsequently added a brush marker (Copic Sketch) as well as the the extremely broad Copic Wide to their line. COPIC MULTILINER and COPIC MULTILINER SP are suited for Scribbles and preliminary drawings because, in contrast to other inking pens, their ink will not smear or bleed when drawn over with markers at a later date. We have on offer two different colour sample cards for Copic: the regular colour card (Art.-Nr. 206075) provides an overview of all the colour tones that correspond to the original Copic colours as far as it is technically possible. In addition, we also carry a blank card which can be filled in using the original pens if avoiding the inevitable variations that result from printing processes is very important.
Important!
COPIC MULTILINER and COPIC MULTILINER SP can be used for preliminary drawings and for making outlined Copic drawings because, in contrast to standard inking pens, when they are drawn over with COPIC MARKERS they will not smear or bleed.
