Scotchlite reflecting film is retroreflecting - that is, it always reflects light back towards its source regardless of the direction from which the light comes or at what angle it arrives on the surface. The Scotchlite reflecting film is used for making signs despite the fact that the 3210 version does not conform to any DIN (German Industrial Norm) and is therefore not allowed to be used in the production of traffic signs. For signage that is not particularly well protected it is nonetheless still an excellent choice by virtue of its service life of 3 years in temperatures ranging from -20° C to + 65° C. The film will stick to wood, glass, plastic, metal, ceramic, leather and, to a limited extent, cloth (only advisable if it will not have to be eventually washed or cleaned). All surfaces must be clean, dry and free of grease before gluing. The minimum temperature for gluing the film is 15° C.
