Scaffolding SystemThe couplings, together with the appropriate pipes, are not only good for building scaffolds but also trade fair stands, loft beds, carts used in a store to transport materials that come on rolls (like we have at our Berlin store) or complete room-within-a-room constructions. The basic coupling is a rigid one and only suitable for right angle connections between 2 pipes. Diagonal bracing and connections between 2 pipes in various angles are possible using the rotating coupling. The traction coupling, together with a pipe connector, enables 2 pipes to be securely joined in a lengthwise direction. The screw-on and the half coupling both affix to only one pipe and allow other construction elements (e.g. shelves) to be attached to the welded screw (in the case of the screw-on coupling) or extra special constructions to be created (in the case of the half-coupling with the ø 16 mm hole). The diameters of scaffolding tubes or pipes continue to this day to be measured in inches ("). By virtue of historical developments in the production of the tubes, the inch measurement cannot be easily converted into millimetres but instead requires reference to the DIN EN ISO 228 standard.
